this song is amazing to me. i think its a story written in song form. The story of a girl who wanted love in a friend, but he was scared and cold to her for he didn't know. She was so enthusiastic on life, but only wanted love.

I think your assessment of the 'meaning' is good. Of course a song can mean many things to many people. Some people might just think he's a jerk. If he can't figure out what he wants he should leave her alone and let her find someone who can love her back.
I can completely see where you see that, cause i saw that at first too. But then i got to thinking and relating it to me and friends. Sometimes we are so desperately looking for something that we confuse others. Maybe he wants to love her but is confused on if its her desire for love or her desire for him. Either way i just really wish i could sit down with Brandon or Ryan and see where this song came from
